It's Thanksgiving!!

This week we met with our Branch Mission Leader and finished up the first draft of the Branch Mission Plan! Yaaayyy!! Our Branch Mission Leader is so awesome. I love him to death. Now we just have to meet with him and the other leaders of the branch to make any changes we want and decide how to implement it. 📜

We also went to Ohio this week! We visited two inactives there and the lessons went really well. The first one is the woman who hasn't come to church since her baptism because her husband doesn't like it so it starts contention in the home and she hates that. But she really want to go to the temple to do ordinances for her ancestors but she needs a recommend first! Ugh, it makes me so sad. 😞 We pray that her husband's heart will soften and she'll be able to come.
The other one we went to see grew up in the church, is soooo nice, and has been inactive for several years. We did meet her husband and found out he's a former investigator! He started taking the discussions to learn more about his wife's religion after they got married but stopped because his work schedule was unpredictable and the missionaries had a real hard time meeting with him. But he is so great and we're going to see if we can start teaching him again. 😄

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Elder Kopischke and Thanksgiving!

I had my first General Authority meeting on my mission!! Elder Kopischke is in the First Quorum of the Seventy and oh my goodness I loved it sooooo much. The spirit was so strong and he answered a lot of our questions. He didn't have a set topic to talk about because all he wanted to do was have the spirit there so Heavenly Father could answer our individual questions. It was amazing.
Things I learned/loved:
You can only receive what you are ready to receive (so if you want something, you have to spiritually prepare yourself for it)
True doctrine understood changes behavior
The gospel is JOY!
We go through difficult things to become special
Hard things are wonderful things that we don't understand
The Lord means what He says
When you share your testimony, you are literally sharing a part of you.
We had our branch Thanksgiving dinner after church yesterday! 🍖🍤🍞🍜🍲Yum!! And it probably won't surprise any of you that our chapel was the most full this week than I have ever seen it. 😄 Everyone we invited was like "What? Food? Ok, I"ll come." Maybe we need to have Thanksgiving dinner after church every week. 😜 3 of our investigators came and many many less actives. :P One of the members had to ask me who a couple of the less actives were because she had never seen them at church before. Haha!  And we wouldn't had 5 investigators there but one of them got really sick and the other slept in. Next week. :)
I hope you all had a great week!!

Fall Is Here!!!

Yaaayyy!

Well, not really yay because that means it's gonna get colder... and all of our trees are dead... buuut the holidays are coming up so that's good! 😄 Sister Anderson hates holidays, which I think is hilarious because she has to be with me and I CAN'T WAIT for them!

This week we finally met with an inactive! We've been trying to contact him since I got here and he finally called us! And he came to church!! He got a job that will allow him to come every week so that is definitely God at work. I'm super excited for him. Except he now lives in an apartment building that's known for the drugs there... we're gonna see if we can find him a better place.

And we were able to see another inactive that we've been trying to contact since I got here. 😆 Unfortunately, this one has to work on Sundays soooo he's not coming to church yet, but we were able to come and teach him and his family and make an appointment to come back.

I hear it's waaaay colder over there than here. I hope none of you are frozen yet! ⛄

Have an awesome week!

Transfers and Exchanges

It was transfers this week and I tooootally forgot to tell y'all about that.... whoops. But yay I'm writing now! 😜 Neither of us are being transferred so I'm gonna stay in Jackson county for at least another 6 weeks, which means I'll have been here for 6 months! Crazy!

Last week was exchanges! (It was a lot less stressful than last exchanges if any of you remember that.. 😅 so that's good. :)) I served with Sister Webb and she is awesome. We visited some less actives, had dinner with a member, taught a new investigator, and contacted some referrals. It gets dark now at 6 (ug) so when we were contacting some referrals it was reeeaaallly dark. I felt like a creeper knocking on people's doors asking them if they wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ from two strangers walking around at night. 🌚

We are getting to know our members tons better and it is awesome!! I don't know if I mentioned this in past emails but 6 months before I got here something happened and there ended up not being any missionaries in Jackson County for a whole transfer.... 😖so the members kind of lost hope in the missionaries. Since then, we have been trying to gain their trust again and it is soooo much better now! Yay! They are becoming more involved and are slowly getting more excited about doing missionary work themselves. Happy day.

We also ran into another preacher yesterday. Oh my goodness. There's a preacher on every block here and they all want to tell us we will burn for eternity if we don't stop teaching the Book of Mormon. Sister Anderson is still getting used to that. 😆 It's kind of funny.

We did get lots of candy on Halloween from the people we taught so that's always fun. :) 🍭🍫🍬

I hope you all had an awesome Halloween!!!
