Ashten got Baptized!!

YAY!!!!

It was awesome. :) Most stressful thing ever though! Story time!
So, the morning of the baptism Sister Zschokke wakes me up at 6 am lying on the floor, toooootally sick. She had been throwing up all night since midnight, poor thing!! We called the Ward Mission Leader and the Elders for a priesthood blessing because we had to go to the world wide missionary training broadcast and 10 and have our interviews with President as well as have district meeting, and then we had to prepare and be at the baptism. :P So they came over, blessed her, and she was good enough to go to the broadcast. Yay! She was still totally exhausted because she hadn't slept though. :(
The World Wide Missionary Training broadcast was awesome!!! A whole bunch of speakers talked about stuff from Preach My Gospel. The main focus was the statement: "We teach repentance, and baptize converts." A huge thing they talked about was the importance of having the spirit in the lessons because the spirit is the teacher and we are the tools. Not the other way around.
In interviews we all found out our departure dates because the MTC is now having English-speaking people stay for 3 weeks again so the transfer dates were really confused. :) I am leaving West Virginia on December 30th. :) I was going to leave on the 7th of January but there were a lot of different things that were affected by that and President decided that we'd go home the 30th instead. :) That means I'm going to be on a mission for 18 months and 2 weeks! That's two weeks longer than my sister! I win.
Anyway, on with the story. After the broadcast and the interviews and the district meeting, we drove home in a huge snow storm. :O Everyone in the ward was wondering if Ashten's baptism was still going to happen because it may be dangerous for people to be on the roads but the Ward Mission Leader said the show will still go on! Ashten was so cute, she came and she was like "The devil's trying to stop me from getting baptized but I'm here!" :P Haha! We had people from the ward assigned to give talks at the baptism but they were late, so that was a little stressful, but it all worked out and it was a very nice, spiritual experience. :) She said that the feeling she had after her baptism was the best feeling she had ever had. :) Ashten gave her family a tour of the chapel (which I loved) and we invited them all to her confirmation on Sunday... which wasn't last Sunday because of the storm so church was cancelled! So we're having her confirmation hopefully this coming Sunday. And Paige's baptism... :)

Our gigantic snow storm was from Friday to Sunday and President told us to stay indoors until it was safe. Sooooo we organized papers. All. Day. Long. But we did go out and play in the snow a little. :) It was up to our knees!!! And you couldn't see our car! The Elders came over afterwards and dug our car out so we could go visit people :)

The End

Have a wonderful week!

Two Baptisms This Week!!!

OH MY GOODNESS I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

Ashten is getting baptized on Wednesday and Paige is getting baptized on Sunday. Wahoo!!!! I'm telling you though, it's been kind of stressful. We have to teach them all the lessons before their baptisms and every time we tried to meet there was a cancellation or the weather got bad or something and we're like "Ah!" So we've had a few phone lessons to make sure they continue to learn and build their faith before their baptisms. :P Very important.
BUT it's all good now and they are both super excited :)

But yeah, that's basically what's been happening this week. :)

Next week I will have lots of fun stuff to talk about :)

Uhhhh.... what else.... It snowed again. Shocker. And my companion is from California so she doesn't like to drive. :P

LOVE YOU ALL!

Great Week!!

Good morning everyone! It's almost not morning here but it's still morning over there!

We had another great week, which is awesome. :) Ashten (the girl getting baptized on the 20th) is super excited and we have started doing her family history so she can have names to take to the temple after her baptism. :D ๐Ÿ˜‡We're starting to get her baptism organized (which takes actually a lot of work believe it or not) but the people in the ward have done it all before and Sister Zschokke has too so yay! We're getting better at having members present at our lessons and talking about the blessings of church because church is the greatest thing ever. :) ⛪
We also had exchanges this week with the Sister Training Leaders. I was not with Sister Kirkby but that's ok. :) Still got to see her. Did some finding this week because there are tons of people here who are ready for the gospel. :) I can feel it. Contacted some referrals too! Yay referrals!

It snowed again last night. :O It seems to snow on mondays and then melt away during the week and then snow again. :P We'll see if it'll stick this time. Sister Zschokke really wants to build a snow man. ⛄

Oh! Guess what! On the 20th there's going to be the very first worldwide missionary broadcast! So every missionary in the whole world will see it! :O I'm excited.

Anyway, hope y'all are havin' a rootin' tootin' top-of-the-sawmill racoon-in-a-doughnut-shop-dumpster week!

Miracles!!

Hello everyone!!

Ok, Ok, I'm so excited. Guess what. So there's an awesome investigator named Ashten who has been meeting with the missionaries for over a year now but lately it's been really difficult to get a hold of her and to meet with her. She said she wanted to get baptized and then kind of fell off the earth for about 2 months... but we called her last week and she answered! We set an appointment with her for last saturday and she asked for a blessing๐Ÿ™ as well so the Elders came and gave it to her at the church and the spirit was so strong before the lesson even started. :) Go priesthood blessings at church buildings! ⛪:D We got to know Ashten and she said she had come to the church before when she was dating one of the members and loved it! We let her choose her baptismal date and she chose January 20th because it's her birthday. :D We then reviewed the Restoration with her and showed her the baptismal font. We're meeting with her again today! And we're going to try to bring members with us to every lesson and get her started with genealogy to get names to take to the temple! Yay!

More miracles!: We got our member present goal this last week! Member presents can be difficult because we have to work with 3 different schedules for each lesson. Phew! Lots of phone calls.๐Ÿ“ž๐Ÿ“ž๐Ÿ“ž But we did it! And the members that came are getting more and more excited about helping us out because they are starting to feel like they can help these people too. Yay!

Also, it snowed this morning. Brr!!❄❄

More miracles!: We were tracting and we went up to this huge mansion sort of house๐Ÿฐ (so I was thinking that they would turn us away because every time we've tracted a huge house they have turned us away, you know, because they're rich and happy and don't feel like they need anything else in their life) but the man who answered said he already had a book of mormon, had been to Temple Square, knew lots of mormons, and he and his wife wanted to learn more about it!! They are the sweetest old couple ever. We met with them and got to know them and they talked a lot about how they had seen God in their life and their different experiences. We're going back on tuesday. :D

And then there were a whole bunch of other miracles in between but this email would be super long if I wrote about them all. :P
Have an awesome week everyone!!
