EASTER!!!!

Happy Easter everybody!
πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ°πŸ£

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! For Easter we went to church and the members were so cute. They all made sure that the missionaries had a place to eat for dinner and one couple gave us little gifts because they're awesome. They knew that I loved Harry Potter and Sister Zschokke had always wanted a watch necklace so they gave me a time-turner necklace and Sister Zschokke a cute little watch necklace that said "The Lord's Time" on it! Just about made us cry. πŸ˜‚

The church puts out a little video initiative for Easter and Christmas and the missionaries usually get cards to pass out with the website on them.... but we didn't get our cards until 2 days before Easter. :( So yesterday we tried to hand out as many as possible. :P We did talk to a potential who was actually really interested in learning more about the Book of Mormon... until her husband came and tried to get her to stop talking to us... gr. But she kept the Book of Mormon and we are praying that if she reads it that she'll act on the spirit that she feels.

Met a couple potentials this week! And we're going to try to volunteer in the community more. There's an initiative going throughout the world for missionaries called "Just Serve." We don't really know anything about it but we're taking it as "missionaries should serve more" so we're going to do that. :P

A couple members have some friends that could be potentials so we're excited about that. :) Member referrals are the best investigators. Our fireside for everyone to bring these friends to will be later in April so we hope that it can help too. :)

Have a fantastic week everyone!

Officially Half Way!!!

Good morning everybody! Can you all believe I've been out for 9 months already?πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“…πŸ“… I can't. Man, it does not feel that long. Sister Zschokke has been out for almost 18 months so I'm still a "baby" to her. :P

This week have gotten to know the ward members a little better. We helped out with a funeral all day last Monday and talked to a lot of people. We received a bunch of referrals this week, which was pretty exciting. 2 of them were media referrals for a woman in a city at the edge of our area called Jane Lew, and a man in a city not as far away, but still far. Yay... we were able to contact the woman in Jane Lew but not the man because he wasn't home and we have no phone number... but we're trying again tomorrow.
John, one of our investigators (who may or may not know that he's an investigator) is progressing slowly. :) He lives with his sister, who is a member, and we go over every week for dinner. He's starting to attend our little thoughts at the end. Still shy about it but he's getting there. :)
And we're working on getting a booth at the Strawberry FestivalπŸ“πŸ“ here which is a HUGE festival here every year. We're excited. :) My first booth! I'll let you know how that goes later on. And we're planning a fireside πŸ”₯for everyone to invite their friends to next month. :D

Have a wonderful week! And happy first week of Spring everybody!!!

Daylight Savings and TWO on Date!!

Hello everybody!

So, I've decided that daylight savings is no longer allowed to be on Sunday because then no one comes to church.... :( So many people said they were going to come but none came!πŸ˜’ Grrr.....

Goldie Chapman's funeral is today so we're helping out with that this afternoon... and it's supposed to rain today... ☔I don't know if that counts as ironic or not. We helped out with the viewing yesterday. The viewing had to be a completely different day because their family is so large. I'm not kidding. She had 13 kids and each of them had 13 kids and then they had kids and then they had kids... our church was busting. :)

We also put two investigators on date this week! Cindy and Leslie. And guess what. We were at Leslie's house teaching her and this man walks in and he says, "Hey! I'm a member of your guys's church."😱 Turns out he's one of the less actives that moved so we had no information on him, but we met him! :D He was so great too because he was totally bearing his testimony to us and Leslie about the Book of Mormon. He just has an issue with the Word of Wisdom. It was a really cool miracle though that we ran into him. :)

Still having adventures trying to find out where everyone lives and who everyone in the ward is. :) We found out the address of another less active yesterday who we have been looking for forever so yay! And then a member yesterday was talking and she said she was talking to her cousin and aunt and they were asking questions about the temple. The member was really excited because they ended up giving her permission to do their deceased family members' work! Then we asked her if she thought they'd be interested in learning more about the gospel and she said they might! So we're going to "drop in" by "coincidence" when they're all there πŸ˜‹ and see how it goes. :)

Have a great week everybody!

Transfers!!

Guess what! I'm killing off Sister Zschokke! 😈

That means I'm going to be her last companion. :) Calm down everyone.

Sister Zschokke and I are both staying in Buckhannon and I am really excited. :) One of the Elders here is being transferred though so we're getting a new missionary in the ward.

This week was really warm! Lovin it! We had a zone meeting and learned lots of awesome stuff, we have a date for our Easter Fireside and we're praying that it will bring good results and happy spiritualness, we have done a lot of finding.... but no new investigators which makes me sad.... but we'll get them if we keep trying!, we put someone on date for baptism!, and we have had lots of adventures trying to find addresses for less actives that don't exist.... πŸ˜…. Yay!

Weird thing: We got a referral for a man that moved here from my last area! So I know him! It was weird to talk to him in a new area. :P

Sad thing: Half of our ward belongs to the same family because a woman had 13 kids and then they all had 13 kids each. :P And the woman who started it all, Goldie, died on monday. 😭 I did get to meet her last week though and she was such an adorable little old lady. 😊

Wonderful thing: We finally tracked down a less active woman and we think she has some potential and if we work with her a little bit she'll feel comfortable coming to church again! We'll see!

Other wonderful thing!: We had THREE less actives at church on Sunday! They're all progressing and one of them is the mother of an active brother in the ward and he was so happy to see her there. 😏
Sad thing: Stan (investigator) was going to come to church but on Sunday morning someone he didn't recognize called him and told him to stay away from us. :( So he didn't come, but we talked to him and he said he doesn't feel right staying away from us. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Have a wonderfully warm, spring day!!
